   Tues. June 18 – Our Adriatic Adventure begins in Tirana, Albania with dinner and an overnight in Albania's capital. Tirana is known for its colorful Ottoman, Fascit and Soviet-era architecture.
Wed. June 19, Thurs., June 20 – Morning tour of Tirana prior to our journey to lovely Lake Ohrid in Macedonia. Our hotel is right on the shore of this pristine lake. We'll enjoy a city tour and then a boat ride on the lake which boasts 176 species. A highlight is a visit to 10th century Sveti Naum Monastery filled with icons and ancient religious treasures. A Roman amphitheater was unearthed here a few years ago, we will visit it and marvel. Along the way shop for gorgeous, unique and inexpensive jewelry fashioned of shells from Lake Ohrid. 2 nights in Ohrid
Fri., June 21, Sat, June 22 - Back to magical Albania, The Land of the Eagle. Dramatic scenery on the way and charming Kruje awaits us and our greatly loved Paradise Hotel. Tour the 5th century citadel/castle and stroll the old market/bazaar set in the stone walls. Some 50 dealers offer fantastic souvenirs from textiles to icons. Fantastic view of the castle, minaret and mountains from our hotel balconies. Learn about Albanian folk dress and folk culture in the famed ethnographic museum, the large 18th century home of a pasha. Take a 2 block stroll to sample the best ice cream and pastries ever as we sit at the fountain with a view....our friend there gives us a warm welcome! 2 nights in Kruje Sun., June 23, Mon., June 24 - Marvelous Montenegro welcomes us. A photo opp at gorgeous Svati Stefan, then charming Cetinje, one time the capital of Montenegro, with its outstanding museums. Hold your breath as we view the magical panorama of Kotor Bay from an incredible 5,400 ft. over- look, then descend a series of 27 stunning switchbacks. Kotor is famed for its old world arches, narrow streets, stone buildings and churches dating back centuries. It’s one of the best preserved medieval towns in the Adriatic, a UNESCO World Heritage site with three miles of ancient walls and walkways above the city to explore. Lonely Planet deemed Kotor the #1 place to visit! Kotor's old town is a delight, with stone buildings and hidden byways. The town is filled with flowers and palm trees and is backed by towering mountains. A guided tour takes us to the amazing churches, one dating to 1170 is filled with icons. Time to wander the narrow lanes, make discoveries, visit the Maritime Museum or the Cats Museum, one of three in the world, and sample the famed ice cream. See old fishing villages on the Bay and lovely Perast with its 16 Baroque palaces and stunning Venetian architecture. We hire a boat for a scenic ride to the Island of St. George to tour the 12th century monastery/ museum and learn the legend of Our Lady of the Rocks. 3 nights in Herceg Novi Tues.,
June 25 – A day in Croatia's ancient fortress, Dubrovnik. A guided tour takes us to the highlights and then free time to enjoy souvenir shopping or climb the endless steps for a view from the ramparts. The hotel in charming Herceg Novi offers spa and massage treatment or take an evening stroll with the locals.
Wed., June 26, Thurs., June 27 – Exotic Bosnia-Hercegovina ... First, Kravice Falls, spectacular cascades of multi-waterfalls tumble into an emerald green lake. We can swim here under the falls, mingle with locals and have time to sample beer and cevapcici. On to magical Pocitelj, the ruins of a fortified medieval town high above the Neretva River. It's a treasure filled with medieval and Ottoman influenced architecture and was established in 1383 by King Stjepan Tvrtko. Climb to the castle for a fantastic view and enjoy the fruit, souvenir & textile vendors along the way. Explore Mostar, a glorious historic town with a restored medieval arched bridge built in 1566, take a stroll across and then we'll dine with it's night lit splendor right in front of us. A variety of shops and market stalls are enjoyable as is the outstanding museum. Climb a narrow staircase to the Koski Mehmed-Pasha Mosque’s minaret for a panoramic city view. Enjoy the cafes in this historic area. 2 nights in Mostar, Bosnia Hercegovina
Fri., June 28 – Explore Sarajevo with a local guide and marvel at the exquisite Ottoman architecture. See the spot where Gavrilo Princip instigated World War I with a shot heard around the world as he assassinated Archduke Franz Ferdinand, heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne, and his consort, Sophie, Duchess von Hohenberg on June 28, 1914. We end our Adriatic Adventure with a festive Farewell Dinner.

The Adriatic Adventure Tour includes hotels with private bath, two substantial meals per day featuring local specialties (for 2 dinners, we will transport you to the restaurant and back but dinner will be on your own to give everyone a chance to try the tremendous variety on the menus), also included transport throughout and visits to castles, historic places, museums and boat rides. All tips are included except for the bus driver. We suggest flying into Tirana, Albania to arrive on June 18 and departing from Sarajevo, Bosnia- Hercegovina on June 29
